A cooperation protocol for Kapıkaya Festival was signed between Ondokuz Mayıs University (OMU) and Bafra Municipality.

OMU Rector Prof. Dr. Yavuz Ünal and Bafra Mayor Hamit Kılıç signed the protocol at OMU Rectorate. OMU Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. Cengiz Batuk, Prof. Dr. Selim Eren, Prof. Dr. Sevim Alışır, and Prof. Dr. Mahmut Başoğlu, Secretary General Assoc. Prof. Dr. İdris Varıcı, and Teknopark General Manager Ekrem Altan attended to the signing ceremony.

Bafra Municipality Mayor Hamit Kılıç said, "We have prepared a protocol to work as Bafra Municipality in cooperation with our University. Especially this year Kapikaya Festival came to the fore. We started with the question of why we should not be together with our academicians, University and Tourism Faculty at an important festival in Bafra, especially in the field of tourism. We already had the idea of working with our University. Hopefully, we will sign our protocol, which we think will benefit our University and our Municipality. With the signed protocol, a step was taken for cooperation on academic and technical issues, primarily the Kapıkaya Festival. According to the protocol, Ondokuz Mayıs University will appoint competent faculty members and students to carry out the activities to be carried out. It will determine faculties, institutes, colleges, vocational schools, application and research centres that will contribute to the cooperation and coordination between these units and the presidency. Bafra Municipality, on the other hand, will carry out the planning of the process between the parties in the execution of the cooperation process and ensure the cooperation and coordination between the parties and stakeholders.
