Samsun Universities Join Forces for Innovation and Growth

Ondokuz Mayıs University (OMU) and Samsun University (SAMU) have signed a protocol encompassing collaboration in education, healthcare, sports, and scientific research.

The protocol, signed at OMU's Rectorate, was endorsed by OMU Rector Prof. Dr. Fatma Aydın and SAMU Rector Prof. Dr. Mahmut Aydın.

Strengthening Academic Efforts Nationally and Internationally

This collaboration between two prominent higher education institutions in Samsun aims to optimize resource utilization and strengthen academic efforts at both national and international levels. Under the protocol, the academic and administrative staff and students of both universities will have reciprocal access to the resources of each university's libraries.

Enhancing Cooperation in Scientific Research

The protocol seeks to enhance cooperation in scientific research, including the shared use of laboratories, equipment, and analysis services. This arrangement will enable more effective and efficient scientific studies. In the field of healthcare, the protocol marks a significant step by allowing academic and administrative staff from both universities to access healthcare services provided by their respective Medical Faculties under equal conditions.

Joint Use of Sports Facilities and Swimming Pools

Additionally, the shared use of sports facilities and swimming pools is expected to foster a collaborative environment that supports social and physical development. To further academic collaboration, faculty members will be able to teach at both universities, leveraging their infrastructure resources.

The signing ceremony was attended by OMU Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. Alper Kesten and Prof. Dr. Çetin Kurnaz, OMU Secretary-General Assoc. Prof. Dr. Erhan Burak Pancar, and SAMU Secretary-General Prof. Dr. Adem Soruç.
