Ondokuz Mayıs University (OMU) Search and Rescue Team, accredited by the Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency (AFAD), continues to work in the town of Elbistan, Kahramanmaraş.
While the earthquake, the epicenter of which was Kahramanmaraş, stifled the whole country, the number of dead and injured in the earthquake is increasing daily. As soon as the news of the earthquake was received, the OMU Search and Rescue Team completed its preparations, went to the earthquake area, and started to work in search and rescue activities. The OMU Search and Rescue Team, which continues its debris rescue efforts with the Vezirköprü Municipality search and rescue officers, carries out its work meticulously.
A second search and rescue team consisting of OMU Search and Rescue Team members started to search and rescue operations today under the leadership of Search and Rescue Center Manager Dr. Yener Aksoy.
The third team, formed from the OMU Search and Rescue Team members, completed its preparations and moved to the earthquake zone. The third team plans to participate in the nighttime search efforts.
