Veteran Soldier Seyit Yüzgeç, who was wounded in a treacherous RPG attack during the operation that took place in Darmık Mountain within the scope of the Operation Olive Branch, paid a courtesy visit to Rector Prof. Sait Bilgiç following his routine medical controls in the Faculty of Medicine at Ondokuz Mayıs University.
In this visit, Veteran Soldier Seyit Yüzgeç was accompanied with Vice Rector Prof. Vedat Ceyhan, Vice Rector Prof. Mehmet Kuran, General Secretary Assoc. Prof. Menderes Kabadayı, Dean of the Faculty of Sports Sciences Prof. Yalçın Taşmektepligil, Rector's Advisor Assoc. Prof. Onur Bekiroğlu, and Harun Yüzgeç, Veteran’s brother working in the Administrative and Financial Department of OMU.
Having served as Mountaineering Commando Specialist Sergeant for 3 years and getting wounded on February 7 in Afrin region, Yüzgeç shared his experiences, thoughts and feelings about the events in Afrin. During the visit, the young veteran talked about the details of the events that he experienced and saw in the region, which was full of emotional moments.
Rector Bilgic remarked that Turkey and Turkish People lived in security and peace thanks to our martyrs and veterans like Seyit Yüzgeç, and that they became the hope of the suffering people. Prof. Sait Bilgiç also stated that such a struggle could only be realized with the help of this mentality. Then he wished that Allah's mercy would be upon our martyrs, and he thanked our veterans.
After the conversation, Rector Prof. Sait Bilgiç thanked Veteran Soldier Seyit Yüzgeç, and he presented the Holy Qur'an and Turkish Flag to the veteran.
