In celebration of the 101st anniversary of Republic Day, the "100% from Samsun to the Republic" art exhibition has opened for visitors. The exhibition, organized by the Samsun Governorship, Ondokuz Mayıs University (OMU), and the Association for Culture, Art, and Tourism Academy (KÜSAD), was inaugurated at Samsun Museum.
Prof. Dr. Metin Eker, a faculty member from the OMU Faculty of Fine Arts Painting Department and President of KÜSAD, expressed his dedication to creating and immortalizing artistic projects in honor of the Republic’s 101st anniversary.
Prof. Dr. Eker shared his pride in being from Samsun, the city of the National Struggle, saying, “The '100% from the National Struggle to Victory' exhibition and the '100% from Samsun to the Republic' exhibition consist of a total of 70 works. From 2018 to 2024, these exhibitions have been displayed twelve times in international and domestic venues, starting in Italy and continuing through cities significant to our struggle—Samsun, Amasya, Erzurum, Sivas, Ankara, and İzmir—recreating Mustafa Kemal Atatürk's route to independence with the same spirit, faith, and ideals, a century later. I am especially pleased to have carried out much of this empathetic project through my own means."
A video screening detailing the creation process of the works in the "100% from Samsun to the Republic" exhibition and showcasing past exhibitions was shown in the conference hall of Samsun Museum.
The event attracted academics, students, and art enthusiasts. The exhibition will remain open to visitors in the Samsun Museum foyer until November 15.
