The "Electric Vehicles Education Center" project, initiated in partnership with Samsun Provincial Directorate of National Education and Ondokuz Mayıs University Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School (OMU MTAL), has been approved for funding by the Ministry of Industry and Technology. The project, which will be implemented under the 2024 Social Development Support Program (SOGEP), was developed with the collaboration of Ondokuz Mayıs University and Yeşilyurt Demir Çelik Vocational School of Higher Education.

With a total budget of 6 million TL, the project will receive a 90% grant support of 5.4 million TL from the Ministry of Industry and Technology. The Electric Vehicles Education Center aims to provide significant educational opportunities for OMU MTAL students and disadvantaged groups while contributing to Samsun’s employment and industrial capacity.

Targeting Skilled Workforce Development and Youth Employment

The project’s primary objectives include training a qualified workforce in electric vehicle technologies, increasing youth employment, and integrating disadvantaged individuals into society. Students at OMU MTAL will receive both theoretical and practical training at the center, preparing them for the job market after graduation. In addition, vocational courses specifically designed for women and unemployed youth will encourage their participation in the labor force.

Samsun’s Strategic Position and Educational Infrastructure

Samsun's advanced industrial infrastructure, strong transportation network, and areas with a high concentration of disadvantaged groups were key factors in selecting the city for this project. The favorable conditions for strengthening Samsun’s education and technology infrastructure make this initiative a significant step for regional development.

Training Opportunities for 220 Individuals

The project aims to provide training for 220 participants, with special vocational courses for women and unemployed youth. Participants completing the training will receive Course Completion Certificates and Europass Certificate Supplements, enhancing their employability in the sector.

Graduates Aligned with Innovative Technologies

Upon completion of the project, the Electric Vehicles Education Center at OMU MTAL will set a benchmark in enhancing Turkey's competitiveness in electric vehicle technologies, not just in Samsun but nationwide. Students trained in workshops and laboratories will graduate with skills aligned with innovative technologies, ready to integrate into the workforce.

Through this project, the Samsun Provincial Directorate of National Education aims to support regional development and spearhead Türkiye’s specialization in the electric vehicle sector.
