OMU and Atakum Municipality Partner for Youth Sports and Cultural Development

Ondokuz Mayıs University (OMU) and Atakum Municipality signed a cooperation protocol aimed at establishing sporting and cultural collaborations. The protocol was signed by OMU Rector Prof. Dr. Fatma Aydın and Atakum Mayor Serhat Türkel at the OMU Rectorate.

Aiming to Contribute to the Physical and Mental Development of Children

The cooperation protocol aims to contribute to the physical and mental development of children participating in sports by providing high-quality, academic-supported infrastructure training in specific sports branches. In addition, the agreement plans to transform successful and talented candidates from the infrastructure training into licensed athletes.

Within the scope of the protocol, the use of Prof. Dr. Yalçın Taşmektepligil Sports Hall of the Yaşar Doğu Faculty of Sports Sciences will be provided, as well as academic and administrative human resources if needed.

The cooperation protocol, which will be valid for four years and six months from the date of signing, will also include physical renovation and cleaning works of the related sports hall by Atakum Municipality.

The signing ceremony concluded with a commemorative photo session of the participants.
