During the 2-8 November International Week for Children with Leukemia, pictures drawn by children with Leukemia treated at Ondokuz Mayıs University (OMU) Medical Faculty Hospital were exhibited with the theme of "Love Heals."

The opening of the exhibition held at the Faculty of Medicine Hospital was attended by the Chief Physician of the Faculty of Medicine Prof. Dr. Fatih Özkan, Head of the Department of Pediatrics of the Faculty of Medicine Prof. Dr. Ayhan Dağdemir, Faculty of Medicine Pediatric Hematology and Oncology Academic Member Prof. Dr. Canan Albayrak, Advisor to the Rector Assoc. Prof. Dr. Recep Yılmaz, hospital administrators, health workers, and patients.

"Our treatment rates are excellent."

Commenting on the exhibition, Faculty of Medicine Pediatric Hematology and Oncology Academic Member Prof. Dr. Canan Albayrak said, "Our treatment rates are excellent. As OMU, we have success rates up to 90 percent. We want our patients to be interested in different hobbies during this intense leukemia and lymphoma treatment process. We recommend that our patients be interested in music, painting, and sports as much as possible. Our greatest desire is for them to return to their education as soon as possible because education is crucial for them to have a profession in the future. This is very important for us. We also care about them forgetting their illnesses and focusing on their goals. Here are the paintings that our children patients made during the treatment. Most of them are very hopeful, colorful, beautiful pictures. We want them never to lose hope. We want to motivate them at every opportunity. And we always expect your support for them."

"Every child should be treated with the best treatment methods."

Prof. Dr. Fatih Özkan, Chief Physician of the Faculty of Medicine Hospital, said, "Especially the illness of children makes us very sad. Because they should have fun and live their lives to the fullest. We would like to draw attention to this sensitivity during the LÖSEV and IWCL week so that children can regain their health as soon as possible. Unfortunately, around 3,500 of our children fall prey to this disease every year. Treatment is possible in this process. As OMU, we take care to apply the best treatment process to our patients. Our expectations from our doctors and employees are always in this direction. I wish every child to return to their normal lives by receiving the best treatment with the best treatment methods."

The exhibition ended with the participants examining the paintings and taking photos.
